God does not channel his energy towards the destruction of man

The oracle of the prophet Jeremiah in the first reading, (30:1-2,12-15,18-22), combines two seemingly contradictory visions. The first has to do with the anger of Yahweh against Israel. The situation is described with such harsh words! The second is about the promise of God to show mercy to her so much that she will continue to be a chosen people to God and God will be her God. This contradiction dissolves into non-existence if we think about the greatness of the merciful love of God over his strength. Indeed, if God were to deal with us based on our iniquities and his strength, we would be no more.
God does not channel his energy towards the destruction of his people. Instead, he uses his energy against their adversaries. A good example is the situation in Mt 14:22-26, where the Lord calms the storm. We are faced with storms daily but if we learn to lean on God and focus our eyes on Jesus, we will not sink but sail safely across the deeps.
God loves you! God bless you!
